The only thing I can think of that would make me want any sort of cabinet type home entertainment center in the future is if I were to get one of those fancy schmancy lifts that hook onto the TV and allow it to recess into, and lift out of, a nice wooden cabinet. I would consider that. Especially if it had a remote control to run the lift. That might be too good to pass up.
I was recently shopping around for a corner entertainment center, and was surprised by the selection available. I had only seen small units before that your TV sits upon, with maybe a few shelves beneath for the dvd player, game units etc. But what I found was a lot more impressive, units ranging from full furniture pieces to the smaller units I was familiar with and everything in between. Lets take a look at some of the available styles.
The most important aspect to think about is the overall look and feel of the room where your new TV cabinet will exist. Overall characteristics of Colonial furniture include a simple, traditional look with straight lines, while carved details are often reserved for the feet or the edges of cabinets.
